You might say that Sultana L. Haque was meant to start a business helping other owners protect theirs. Born to a serial entrepreneur, Sultana grew up learning about the joys of making a company grow, as well as the challenges of protecting its assets.

With a name that literally translates to “Queen of Justice” (“Sultana” means “queen” and”Haque” means “justice”), Sultana is fulfilling her destiny by standing up for the rights of others as an energetic business attorney. She understands the concerns of entrepreneurs because she is one. Ever the consummate professional, Sultana has quickly become recognized as a Woman to Watch in 2011.

Sultana opened her private law practice, SultanaLaw, P.A., in August 2010 to help busy entrepreneurs and individuals protect their businesses, property and personal affairs amidst an ever-changing economic landscape. A skillful listener and communicator, she approaches every client’s case with compassion, commitment and professionalism. Sultana was born in The Hague, The Netherlands, and speaks Dutch fluently. She is also half Pakistani- giving her an interesting multicultural perspective on life. She moved to Orlando with her family as a child. While a student in the Boone High School law magnet program, Sultana developed an interest in the law through her volunteer work with Teen Court. Today, she remains an active supporter of Teen Court as a judge and jury advisor. Sultana earned bachelor degrees in Criminal Justice and Psychology and an MBA from the University of Central Florida. While earning a Juris Doctorate at Barry UniversitySchool of Law, she interned as a law clerk for the Honorable Faye Allen of the Ninth Circuit Court and completed three transactional law clinics.

After graduation, Sultana learned how to protect and commercialize intellectual property at the UCF Technology Transfer Office and coached start-up companies at the UCF Venture Lab.While working with the Winter Park Angels, she learned about the private equity side of start-up funding. Sultana is licensed to practice law in both Florida and New York and before the federal court – Middle District of Florida.

Deeply invested in Orlando’s progress and growth, Sultana is serving a second term on the board of directors of the Central Florida Women’s Resource Center and Central Florida’s Women of Wisdom organization. She is also a member of the Orange County Bar Association, the Central Florida Trusted Professionals Network and the Orlando Greenlight Community.

Sultana Haque’s commitment to empowering business owners in Central Florida, as well as her tireless support of organizations that support youth and women make her a Woman to Watch in 2011.
